Lugo Elementary School Multimedia Technology Teaching Program

America's public schools face a myriad of well known problems that include a lack of qualified teachers, inadequate budgets, ill-equipped classrooms, poorly maintained and/or unsafe facilities, high drop out rates, lack of parental and community involvement, etc. The inability to solve these problems continues to have profound short and long term consequences for our communities and the nation at large. Underprivileged children in low income areas who start out at a disadvantage are impacted even more. The Lugo Elementary School Multimedia Technology Teaching Program provides teachers with multimedia tools and technology to help them deliver their lessons in more engaging and effective ways. The goals of the program include enhancing and maximizing the learning environment, improving academic performance and helping to provide a solid educational foundation that can make a real difference in the lives of students. Currently in the pilot phase, the Foundation is hoping to expand the program to additional schools assuming established metrics and measurable improvements in grade averages and student test scores are achieved.
